Formaticon is a cloud-deployed platform that hosts every Cellformatica instrument behind a single, user-friendly web-app interface. It was built to give the research community direct access to advanced computational AI tools without the usual barrier of installing and mastering the local coding environments those tools normally require. The AI Scientist is the flagship instrument of the Formaticon platform: an adaptive AI teammate capable of the analytic work a research scientist would perform — analysing data, synthesising the published literature, and generating hypotheses that point toward the most promising directions for future work. It is built for scientists who need more than a summary of what is already known; they need a rigorous, informed perspective on what remains to be discovered. We also use the AI Scientist internally for our Custom Projects (see Services), where every output is reviewed and refined by a human expert before it reaches the researcher.

The AI Review Writer is a dedicated template that directs the AI Scientist to produce structured scientific review articles according to parameters the researcher defines, including title, scope, length, chronological frame, and the number of sources to consult. The researcher can supply an existing outline or let the instrument generate one, with human-guided corrections available at every stage of the process. The output is a writing kit: a set of modular text blocks that the author can edit, combine and recombine, expand with their own observations and conclusions, or reorganise entirely, giving the researcher full authorial control over the finished article.

The AI Data Analysis is a specific template that directs the AI Scientist to analyse the researcher's uploaded data and produce a research report setting out the findings and new insights in the light of prior knowledge drawn from the published literature. The system offers a broad range of preset analysis workflows, including single-cell biology, genomics, and spatial biology.

The AI Peer Reviewer  is a specific template that makes the  AI scientist  perform a line-to-line exhaustive review of the attached manuscript . Both human- and machine-readable outputs are produced to enable further processing of the manuscript by correcting agents.

Batch Query a special legacy instrument designed to process large scale lists of entities such as potential drug targets, gene or compound lists with the goal of comprehending their meaning. This instrument is designed specifically for target prioritization where each entity is scored (numerically and semantically) by its potential role within the analysed context.  

Detailed Reports is a specialised legacy instrument that examines how cooperative network activity among the members of a gene set may contribute to a given biological process. Starting from a small gene set of 10 to 50 genes, it produces a report with diagrams of the potential regulatory connections between the genes, matched to the context defined by the query.
